On Friday, August 14, the Center for Excellence in World Arts (CEWA) community gathered for a special moment of thanksgiving and praise as they prepared to move from their longtime home on the ILC campus to a new space in the Mahler building.
For more than a decade, the CEWA space has been filled with music, creativity, learning, prayer, laughter, and countless memories. The Avery Room, named in honor of Tom Avery, a pioneer in Ethnodoxology and World Arts, became a special gathering place for the CEWA community. It was a space where music was made, art was created, classes were taught, workshops were held, and important milestones were celebrated.

We are only able to grow because of the people who believe in what we’re doing and choose to support our students and our university. Every gift makes a difference. On September 17, North Texas comes together for North Texas Giving Day, and we’d love for you to be part of it! We are already receiving donations here: https://www.northtexasgivingday.org/organization/diu
