Gaston College Libraries attended the Rhino Roadmap to CTE Careers event on February 24, 2026. During this event, library staff members were available to show event attendees some of the many services available to the Gaston College community. Some of the books available for checkout were on-hand and information about the Library, Writing Center, Tutoring Services, and Rhinovation Station were also available. The Rhinovation Station services being demonstrated included the 3D printer, and the button maker.

These events are perfect opportunities to learn about many of the great services available at the Gaston College Libraries.

The Morris Library currently has a scavenger hunt named Duck Hunt where visitors are able to find miniature ducks that are hidden throughout the library. There are prizes available for anyone that is able to find the ducks. Please be sure to stop by the Morris Library to participate in this event.

The 1st Floor of the Morris Library currently has a book display dedicated to Valentine's Day. Two different themes are included: on the side of love is All You Need Is Love and on the opposite side is Love Stinks. Please be sure to stop by the Morris Library to see this book display.

For the month of February 2026, the Hot Topics book display area located on the First Floor of the Morris Library will have a selection of library materials relevant to the United States Presidents. The Monthly Display section located on the First Floor of the Morris Library now has a book display celebrating Black History Month. Several recent books are included, one of which is about Lena Horne. She is considered by many to be the first African-American actress in Hollywood. Please be sure to visit the First Floor of the Morris Library to see this and all of the other great content available.

The Morris Library currently has a Christmas tree and ambient soundscape videos playing on one of the Clear Touch TVs. As students and visitors are at the library, our hope is that you are able to have a welcoming and relaxing place to visit. The Morris Library located on the Dallas Campus of Gaston College hosted the Gaston Early College of Medical Sciences science fair on Friday November 21, 2025.

The Monthly Display section located on the First Floor of the Morris Library currently has a book display whose focus is gaming. Works of fiction about gaming, such as The Hunger Games series, are included and there is also content relevant to board games and video games.

On November 11, 2025 the Gaston College Libraries hosted a Chess and Checkers Tournament at the Morris Library. There are similar events that are being planned in the coming weeks and months.
