Alumna Chelsey Buckley is making a difference in the community as director of programs at Lifebridge North Shore. Her journey through recovery, surviving trafficking, and raising a child on her own drove her to return to school at North Shore Community College for a certificate in substance abuse counseling and for her bachelor's and master's degrees at Salem State University.

LVTI seniors recently attended a completion event at North Shore Community College where they were able to register for their fall classes, receive their college IDs, and learn more about the student services and supports available to them.

This exciting milestone marks the beginning of their next chapters, and we are so proud to see our students preparing for success beyond graduation!

Faculty and staff recently attended the Massachusetts Community Colleges 2026 Teaching, Learning and Student Development (TLSD) Conference. In this engaging conference, participants shared innovative ideas focused on student success, equity, and resilience across higher education. Professor Dube presented her sabbatical research on data analysis strategies to improve math success, highlighting how data-informed approaches can help identify barriers and create stronger support systems for students.

Together, we continue building stronger pathways for our students and communities across the Commonwealth. Events like TLSD remind us of the power of collaboration and innovation in shaping the future of community colleges.

This year, leading up to the start of the 2026 Teaching, Learning and Student Development (TLSD) Conference, Massachusetts community college presidents gathered with American Association of Community Colleges President and CEO Dr. DeRionne Pollard, who was also the keynote speaker for the conference. It was a good conversation that served as a reminder of the vital role community colleges play in expanding opportunity, strengthening communities, and supporting student achievement.
