🧼 Clean & Sanitize Surfaces

Keep your kitchen safe and healthy with a simple two-step routine: wash first, then sanitize. ✅

Wipe down surfaces with warm, soapy water to remove dirt, then follow up with a sanitizer—like a diluted bleach solution—to reduce harmful bacteria.
Small habits like this can make a big difference in protecting your household!

🌿 PEAQ Monitoring is Underway!

PEAQ (Predictive Equations for Alfalfa Quality) stick monitoring is in full swing across the region! Developed by UW–Madison, this tool estimates the relative feed value of first cutting alfalfa based on crop height and maturity—helping you make informed harvest decisions.

🌱 Use PEAQ to:
✅ Track alfalfa growth and development
✅ Time harvest for your preferred forage quality
✅ Balance quality and tonnage
📅 During May, samples are collected Mondays & Thursdays, with results posted Tuesdays & Fridays.

🎉 Twelve Lafayette County Youth Complete “Gearing Up for Safety” Program 🚜

We’re proud to celebrate 12 local youth who successfully completed Lafayette County’s Gearing Up for Safety program! 👏

Through hands-on learning, participants gained essential skills for working safely around farm equipment and in agricultural environments. From passing written and driving tests ✅ to practicing real-life scenarios, these young leaders showed responsibility, maturity, and a commitment to safety.

A special thank you goes to Chad Gleason of Gleason Cattle Company Meats for sharing his expertise and real-world insights with the group. Partnerships like this make a lasting impact on our youth and our agricultural community! 🌱

Throughout the program, students learned:
🚜 Safe tractor and machinery operation
⚠️ PTO hazards and equipment blind spots
🆘 Emergency response awareness
✅ Smart decision-making on the farm
🔧 Hands-on driving and equipment skills

Programs like this are vital in rural communities like Lafayette County, helping youth build confidence while reducing preventable injuries.

👏 Thank you to all volunteers, families, and community partners who made this program a success!
