The Softball team made history by tying the program record for wins during an incredible season that saw the Corsairs win the Little East Championship (LEC) and reach the 2026 NCAA Division III Super Regional round. Along the way, third baseman RaeLynn Perregaux (Nursing) became the first player in program history to be named LEC Player of the Year, while the coaching staff, led by Head Coach Rachael Powers, was named LEC Coaching Staff of the Year.

Assistant Professor Kristin Magan (Nursing) was selected as an ASCENT Program Fellow. The ASCENT Consortium works to increase the number of palliative care investigators, expand the range of institutions conducting palliative care research, and develop scientific and leadership capabilities.

The international health education partnership "Bridging the Atlantic" between the College of Nursing & Health Sciences and the University of the Azores was profiled. "Every year, we look at a community health issue in the United States and the Azores," said Associate Professor Maryellen Brisbois.

Students from UMD and the University of the Azores are helping break stigma around substance use as part of the 'Bridging the Atlantic' exchange program.
