Camie brings 14 years of community college experience in academic leadership, curriculum, accreditation, strategic planning, and student success. As a former community college student herself, she understands the transformative impact community colleges have on students, families, and communities.

"I am honored to join EICC and excited to work alongside faculty, staff, students, and community partners to continue creating opportunities that change lives," McBee said.

From a homeschooled student who hadn't sat at a desk since second grade to a commencement speaker, Phi Theta Kappa president, tutor, and future physicist, Adam Long's college experience was full of unexpected opportunities.

Driven by curiosity and a love of asking questions, Adam found more than a degree at Eastern Iowa Community College. He found community, confidence, and a path toward his dream of becoming a physics professor.

For Lauren Eden, earning her degree meant balancing college, clinical rotations, motherhood, and all of life's unexpected challenges.

Along the way, she discovered a passion for sonography, leaned on the support of family and classmates, and stayed focused on building a future for herself and her son, Vander.

Now a graduate of EICC's Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, Lauren is beginning her career in healthcare and proving what's possible through hard work, determination, and a strong support system.

For EICC grad Adam Long, the answer starts with curiosity and a lot of questions.

What began as a love of learning while being homeschooled grew into a passion for science, campus leadership, and helping others succeed. Along the way, Adam became a Phi Theta Kappa chapter president, tutor, commencement speaker, and role model for fellow students.

This fall, he'll continue his studies at Augustana College with plans to pursue a career teaching physics.
