Chi Omega was founded in 1895 on the foundation of our six principles: friendship, high standards of personnel, scholarship, campus activities, career and personal development, and community service. The sisters of the Omicron Kappa Chapter at University of California, Davis embody these principles through:

Friendship: We love, care about, and support our sisters in all they do. We have sisterhoo

d events such as: Movies and Mocktails, Pumpkin Carving, Sardines at the Death Star, Game Nights, Tie Dying, and more. We have a formal during the Fall and Spring and a Theme Dance during Winter Quarter. Scholarship: We have in house tutors, test files, books and readers, and study buddies. For the girls who get over a 3.0, we have a Scholarship Dinner and those who get a 4.0 receive a pearl for their badge. Campus Activities: The sisters participate in IM sports such as Basketball, Volleyball, and Inner Tube Water Polo. There are also girls that work at the CoHo, at the ARC, for Unitrans, and as Campus Tour Guides. Career and Personal Development: Several sisters work as academic advisors in many different departments, resume workshops, and etiquette dinners. Community Service: We proudly put on Chi O Cookies and Chi O Casino to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Chi Omega's Symphony:
To live constantly above snobbery of word or deed; to place scholarship before social obligations and character before appearances; to be, in the best sense, democratic rather than 'exclusive', and lovable rather than 'popular'; to work earnestly, to speak kindly, to act sincerely, to choose thoughtfully that course which occasion and conscience demand; to be womanly always; to be discouraged never; in a word, to be loyal under any and all circumstances to my Fraternity and her highest teachings and to have her welfare ever at heart that she may be a symphony of high purpose and helpfulness in which there is no discordant note. Thank you so so much to everyone who participated in our first Chi Omega Wish Walk! 🌟 We were able to raise over $10,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, funding another wish!! 💙 We also had a total of 3,806 miles walked!! 🤍

As Chi Omega women, we hold ourselves to a higher standard. “To speak kindly, to act sincerely, to choose thoughtfully that course which occasion and consciousness demand.” We acknowledge our privilege and we are proud to use our voices and our platform to amplify that of others, encourage education, and provide resources.

We would like to thank each and everyone of you who have helped us reach this goal. With your help, we have been able to donate $5,850 that has gone towards The Black Lives Matter Foundation, the NAACP, and The National Black Justice Coalition.

Our work is not finished and we will continue to raise our voices in support. There is a spreadsheet full of petitions, resources, and more in our bio. Do not stay silent!

“As Chi Omegas, we are constantly asked "to choose thoughtfully that course which occasion and conscience demand." And as an organization of purposeful women, we cannot stay silent on the injustices that black Americans throughout our country’s history have endured and continue to endure today. Silence on this issue is a privilege. We encourage our members to condemn acts of hatred, bigotry, and violence. We encourage our Sisters to speak out against acts of racism and educate themselves on the issues at hand. We expect our members to promote inclusion and diversity in all areas of their lives: on their campuses, in their chapters, within their friend groups, and around their kitchen tables.
If we are to keep Chi Omega's "welfare ever at heart," it begins and ends with the safety of our individual members and our communities. We must take steps toward these goals by educating ourselves and choosing to take part in these conversations. This serves as our starting point for a larger conversation and resources to come, and as a charge for each of you to join us in speaking up.” -

We are privileged here at the Omicron Kappa chapter to have a platform where we can raise our voices. We condemn all acts of institutionalized violence and racial prejudice against Black communities, and we reiterate our solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. However, we recognize that a singular statement of support is, by no measure, enough.
