African Plant Breeding Academy Session 2 complete! Just finished another 2-week Session 2 (of 3) of the African Plant Breeding Academy Class V at World Agroforestry in Nairobi. Led by director Rita Mumm, instructors Iago Hale, Bruce Walsh, and Allen Van Deynze complemented by guest instructors from CIMMYT and Christine Diepenbrock, 39 students were guided to complex plant breeding strategies, experimental designs, application of genomics, high throughput phenotyping, and breeding for nutrition. This class is generously funded by Mars, Incorporated.

Registrations for the 2023 PBA E-Series: R-Studio Level 1 are now open! 📊

Level 1: R for the Plant Breeder – Introduction, set-up, and workflows

This module aims to introduce Plant Breeders and Scientists to the world of R and to guide them through setting up their work environments, tools, and workflows. This course will use the power of RStudio and the plethora of tools in the Tidyverse to guide the student through the whole process from data collection, good practices on data organization, reporting, and everything in between, always with the goals of transparency and reproducibility.
This course is recommended prerequisite for UC Davis Plant Breeding Academy.
