AAPI Heritage Month is not a monolith.

“AAPI” includes range of cultures, languages, religions, migration stories, and political histories extending far beyond what is commonly represented in mainstream media.
This month, we encourage students to think critically about whose stories are highlighted, whose are overlooked, and how we can create more inclusive understandings of identity, culture, and community.

~~From scholars and organizers to poets and direct-action leaders, these individuals remind us that revolution is not only about protest it’s also about, education, community building, and moral clarity.

Their work challenges us to think critically, organize intentionally, and lead with integrity.

As students, organizers, and future leaders, our responsibility is not only to remember this legacy but to expand it.

Progress is not inherited.
It is built.

Tag a student advocate, organizer, or “revolutionary in the making” who is doing the work in their community.

“Justice is what love looks like in public.”

💌🪽

This Valentine’s Day, ECAC honors love that shows up as advocacy, empathy, and courage.
We believe that loving your community means standing against injustice, uplifting marginalized voices, and creating spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and protected.
Today and every day, we remain committed to building a campus rooted in equity, dignity, solidarity and collective care.

The Ethnic and Cultural Affairs Commission (ECAC) started z-ECAC by taking great inspiration from the Third World Forum. We wanted a space for students of historically marginalized backgrounds to bring their voices, stories, poems, songs, and art as a way for our communities to talk about our communities. We hope that this can become a space for us to learn from each other, understand parallels and shared resistance, and organize.

This is the Ethnic and Cultural Affairs Commission’s first edition of our Zine accepting submissions from our student body. Please fill out the form below, and stay tuned for our posts! z-ECAC will be published through our instagram, and during events, we will be printing about 8 pages out to fit into mini-zines.

Please create everything by hand and we will scan it in for the next issue.

*priority will be given to those who submit by the deadline*
