Four Community Service Opportunities:

Dear Nu Pi Members,

The Nu Pi Chapter is supporting four community service opportunities this December. Please consider contributing to each to maximize your community service and SOAR points earned. Please review each and contact fellow Nu Pi Member, Tyler McDonough via text or email to coordinate your support. Please reach out to Tyler via email or text and share what cause(s) you'd like to support and we can work together to make it happen!

Please contribute to one or more of the following this December:
1. Holiday Gift Drive for Dayton Children’s Hospital:
a. Members of the Nu Pi Chapter are gathering and donating toys and other gifts for children at Dayton’s Children Hospital throughout the month of December.
b. Only select gifts are being accepted by the Hospital at this time. Please email or text Tyler McDonough to learn more about this Holiday Gift Drive for Dayton Children’s Hospital and to coordinate your donation.

2. Food Drive for St. Vincent de Paul:
a. Members of the Nu Pi Chapter are gathering and donating food goods for homeless persons at St. Vincent de Paul throughout the month of December.
b. Only select food items are being accepted by St. Vincent de Paul at this time. Please email or text Tyler McDonough to learn more about this food drive for St. Vincent de Paul and to coordinate your donation.

3. Sock and Toiletry Drive for St. Vincent de Paul:
a. Members of the Nu Pi Chapter are gathering and donating socks and toiletries for homeless persons at St. Vincent de Paul throughout the month of December.
b. Only select items are being accepted by St. Vincent de Paul at this time.
c. Please email or text Tyler McDonough to learn more about this sock and toiletry drive for St. Vincent de Paul and to coordinate your donation.

4. Nu Pi Community Garden Cleanup:
a. Members of the Nu Pi Chapter are working together to clean up the Nu Pi Community Garden at 4301 Powell Rd Dayton, OH 45424 this December.
b. You are welcome to assist with the cleanup at your convenience, but volunteer days are being coordinated for Sunday, 12/20/2020; Wednesday, 12/23/2020; and Sunday, 12/27/2020.
c. Please email or text Tyler McDonough to learn more about the Nu Pi Community Garden, its cleanup initiative, and to coordinate your support.

PTK- Alpha Epsilon Eta Fundraiser:

The Phi Theta Kappa - Alpha Epsilon Eta chapter has designed a t-shirt to support those affected by COVID-19. All profits will be donated to The Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless. SOAR Scholarship Applications are due Friday, March 22, 2019. The application packet is attached.

Support of Academic Recognition or S.O.A.R Scholarships are scholarships funded by an alumni member Robert T. Wells.

SOAR Scholarships are Nu Pi Chapter Level that are awarded to members at the Fall and Spring Induction Ceremonies. The SOAR Scholarships are awarded in the following amounts:

one $500 scholarship
five $200 scholarships
one $1,000 transfer scholarship

These SOAR scholarships are awarded based on the member’s cumulative GPA and Service to Nu Pi and Phi Theta Kappa.
