University of Dayton SEE Minor The Sustainability, Energy and the Environment Initiative at the University of Dayton

As the Sustainability, Energy and the Environment (SEE) Initiative at the University of Dayton, we seek to provide interested students with a deep appreciation of the complexity and inherent multidisciplinarity in all discussions of sustainability, energy and the environment. SEE has established key areas of focus within the Initiative, including the newly developed SEE Minor, the first year SEE L

earning-Living Community (LLC), the Sustainability Student Organizations’ Environmental Sustainability Week, and the SEE Special Interest Houses. Through these efforts and the work of the Initiative as a whole, we strive to strengthen the tradition of the University of Dayton in actively engaging with the City of Dayton and the Miami Valley region and to increase awareness as part of a community that our actions, while on campus, connect us to the outside world and therefore require us to encourage sustainable practices here at UD.

A 2012 student-led research project suggesting the University establish a green revolving fund is promising a big payoff to the University in cost savings, innovation, learning opportunities and creating a greener campus.
