Dr. Ashley Barret, recently retired from University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and principal oboist of Greensboro Symphony, visited the Wright State University oboe studio today. Barret gave a great masterclass addressing breathing and practice routines.

Congratulations to Wright State University alumnus kyle_recker_ who has won a position as a full time musician in the United States Army!

Recker is excited for this opportunity a it has been a dream of hid to be able to perform in a military band for many years. He leaves for basic training in early January and is looking forward to beginning his new career!

Congratulations to Professor Ginger Thomas Minneman on being the 2026 recipient of the Wright State University College of Liberal Arts “Outstanding NTE Instructor”.

Currently Minneman is the area head of the voice, teaches vocal lessons, and serves as chair of Music
in the School of Fine and Performing Arts.

Such a well-deserved recognition. Bravo, Professor Minneman!
