MASH is a summer program through UAMS Southwest Regional Campus - Texarkana that gives high school juniors a chance to learn about different healthcare careers. During their visit today with the OTA students at UA Cossatot in Ashdown, the MASH students (from most of the area high schools) came prepared with a diagnosis to role-play.

Students participated in a variety of self-care tasks while working within the limitations of their assigned diagnosis. Along the way, they learned ways to adapt and compensate, while also getting a better understanding of the occupational therapy profession. Some students quickly discovered that simple everyday tasks aren't always so simple!

This was a great group of MASH students to work with. They were eager to learn, willing to participate, and made the day both fun and rewarding for everyone involved.

The 2025 OTA graduating class achieved an incredible milestone by earning a 100% pass rate on the NBCOT certification exam, a testament to their hard work, determination, and the outstanding support of our faculty and staff. This accomplishment continues a tradition of excellence within the program and highlights the quality education and hands-on training students receive at UA Cossatot.
