Do you love the ocean? Are you interested in marine biology, oceanography, maritime history and cultures? You might want to consider opportunities for semester study abroad with SEA Semester. Several Stetson students have done this (most recently, J.B. Pitts and Brian Verblaauw) semester-long program where courses transfer back to Stetson to fulfill general education, elective, and major requirements. Students spend 6 weeks in Woods Hole, Massachusetts on the SEA Semester campus in intensive courses and preparation, and then 6 weeks on a tall sailing ship in either the Atlantic or Pacific Oceans. You'll learn to sail a tall ship, navigate by charts or the stars, do real marine biology and oceanography, and experience new cultures and make new friends. (Different programs focus on different themes. Check them out on the website.) Talk to Dr. Anderson or Dr. Abbott for more information! www.sea.edu
