True Blue Challenge Day is April 30 and we’re inviting Millikin alumni, faculty, staff, and other Big Blue community members to take the True Blue Challenge and give to scholarships for current and future students! 🔵 📣

You’re already ahead of the curve with the Big Blue Access program!

Don’t forget, at the start of each qualifying term, students receive the physical and digital course materials they need in order to succeed. The cost is included on your student account and calculated on a flat fee per student per credit hour, regardless of how much each individual textbook costs. If students want to opt out of the program, visit the website.

What do students need to do?
1. Check your course list at millikin.textbookx.com to see what materials you’ll receive.
2. Pick up any physical texts at the University Commons. Instructions for picking up your materials will be sent in early August.
3. Check your email for digital access information. Details will be sent to your Millikin email three days before classes begin.

At Millikin University, students no longer need to make separate purchases for textbooks—course materials are included through the Big Blue Access program!

Starting with Fall 2023, Millikin’s bookstore for textbooks and course materials will be operated by Akademos/TextbookX, who will provide all students with all of the course materials they need before the first day of class. Students no longer need to make separate purchases to obtain their course materials or hunt around for different options.

On June 19, 1865, nearly two and half years after President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation, Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger with federal troops in Galveston, Texas, notified residents that President Lincoln had issued an order to free enslaved peoples. A celebration was held the next year on June 19, 1866, and became the first annual celebration of what is now known as Juneteenth.

With a rich history of Black excellence on our campus, Millikin recognizes the importance of celebrating Juneteenth and continues to work toward our commitment to Millikin’s core value of diversity and inclusion.
