It is the policy of the Board of Trustees of Richland Community College to acknowledge that social media plays a

n important role in the lives of the community, students, faculty, and staff. Richland Community College will maintain official social media sites to support the College in accomplishing its mission and vision, achieving its goals and objectives, and advancing the College’s Core Values. The President or designees shall be responsible for disseminating public information about the College through the use of official College sponsored social media. Richland Community College encourages feedback and comments from our followers, which include prospective students, current students, alumni, staff and members of the community. We remain committed to maintaining these sites as a safe and family-friendly forum for sharing information. In the spirit of maintaining a positive environment to our site visitors, Richland Community College reserves the right to remove any comments or wall postings from official college-sponsored pages that are inappropriate, inflammatory or damaging to Richland Community College or any individual. Hey, students - just like these flowers grown by Richland's Horticulture students, you need resources and support to flourish on your educational journey. One of the easiest resources to access is scholarships. And fun fact - you only need to fill out a single application to apply for Fall 2026 scholarships!

The Fall 2026 Scholarship Application is live now, and the Early Consideration Deadline is Monday, June 15. Fill out your application before that day to get priority consideration for the scholarships that will fund your schooling.

Students - this is your last chance to apply for our full-tuition Student Ambassador scholarship! Applications are due by June 1.

Through this program, selected Student Ambassadors will represent the College at events, support recruitment and community outreach efforts, and share the Richland experience with donors, prospective students, and community partners.

Ambassadors will enroll in a 1-credit Student Development course each semester, focused on learning about leadership, networking, career readiness, and communication skills. Each student will also be paired with a Richland alumni or community mentor for guidance and career exploration.

Today kicked off our two-day Paraprofessional and Substitute Teacher Training - where 51 participants are training to enter classrooms across the community!

This free event was created by Richland’s Education program and funded through the Grow Your Own Teachers Illinois Initiative. Here, they’re learning trauma-informed practices, classroom management, cultural competency, and so much more. Participants receive a completion stipend and financial assistance for their certification fee. They also get to connect with local organizations that are hiring.

Richland Student Farms is holding markets from 3 PM - 7 PM on the 3rd Wednesday of every month this summer:

Richland Community College will be closed on Monday, May 25, in honor of Memorial Day.

The College is also closed on Friday, May 22, as part of summer hours. We will reopen on Tuesday, May 28, at 7 AM.

We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend while taking time to remember the military personnel who died while serving our country.
