Students and staff can select volunteer dates throughout the fall semester on Huskie Hub. We have deliveries every Tuesday and Wednesday mornings along with open pantry shift and Thursday opportunities.

We rely on the support of our volunteers, who receive inventory, shop for food, assist clients and more. They also help create a welcoming environment where clients feel safe and comfortable.

The Pick Museum of Anthropology’s at NIU has a current exhibit named “Good Food” which explores food issues in northern Illinois and highlights the organizations and individuals making food accessible, sustainable, equitable, and nourishing for everyone in our community. Additionally, it highlights the ways in which food connects us to people, places, and moments.
The Museum would like to collect photos of meals, example of comfort foods/treats while abroad, meal kits, and any other food related items that may be of interest to highlight military connected students/staff. They plan to feature those items along with your name and 1-2 sentences about why it’s important. If you are interested in participating, please respond to [email protected] by January 24th.
