Last night was the Sigma Tau Delta Book Ball, an amazing Gothic-themed party, at which English Department awards were given out. What a great event! Thanks to the Sigma Tau Delta officers for putting it together. In the next week we'll share photos.

Today in ENCW 314A the Dramatic Writing students did a staged reading of their collaborative play project. (See the first pic for the title!) ENGL writers Victoria, Gerald, Sheridan, and Abi were among the writer-performers. Applause!

Bre’Anna Bivens, Push Cart nominee and A Public Space Writing Fellow is our alumni spotlight feature of the week. Bre’Anna received her MFAota from Stetson in ‘24. 🎉 Her piece “Spell Me, An enunciation,” is featured in Guernica.

The Stetson English Department is cheering for our alumni Clint Bentley, whose screenwriting and producing is nominated for an Oscar for SingSing.

In a September 2, 2024, Dallas Observer article, Bentley name-checks his documentary filmmaking at Stetson, which included a 2007 short film about the Texas border crisis which was funded by a summer SURE grant.
