Big congratulations to Adam Elkhamissy, Conal Walsh, Nicolo Radaelli, Maclaren Davis, and Max Bennett for winning the Florida CFA Research Challenge. Special recognition as well to Matthew Hurst for supporting the team throughout the competition.

This is our sixth consecutive win in the Florida CFA Research Challenge. With 24 teams competing from across the state and more than 100 hours of preparation invested by each student, this achievement speaks to the dedication and strength of the Roland George Investments Program.

A strong result in a highly competitive national field.

This past Friday, our Centurion Sales Competition Team competed virtually at the Warhawk Sales Competition alongside 21 universities from across the country. Senior Valen Brown and sophomore Eva Hinke represented Stetson with professionalism and preparation, leading the team to a 5th-place overall finish, with Valen placing 4th in his bracket.

Competitions like these provide valuable experiential learning opportunities and reinforce the strength of Stetson’s sales program. We are proud of how our students continue to perform at a high level.

♟️ An invitation-only competition. A 24-hour client challenge. Global perspectives.

Our Stetson University Business Ethics Case Competition (BECC) University team rose to the occasion once again in one of the most competitive and prestigious student case competitions in the country, an event we’ve been proud to participate in over multiple years, taking place at Georgetown University.
This experience tested not just technical skills, but teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to turn ambiguity into meaningful insight.

“It was a wonderful and intense competition that pushed me to analyze an ambiguous client problem within a 24-hour timeframe with a team and turn our analysis into a clear, impact-driven recommendation. Engaging with teams from different institutions across the U.S. and global teams from Canada, Hong Kong, and beyond who traveled overseas made the experience even more meaningful and exposed me to diverse problem-solving perspectives.” - Aayusha Sapkota

🎯 Next stop: This March, Stetson's BECC team will represent the university at the Milgard Invitational at the University of Washington. The team will be led by Bella Degenhardt and composed of three other students: Kamryn Wilson, Dietre Griesinger, and Endrik Brettmann, currently already working on the case.

We’re proud of this team’s professionalism, collaboration, and analytical rigor on a national and global stage.

💼 Remote or in-office?
It’s one of the most debated questions in today’s workplace.

In our latest SOBA Spotlight, Sean Newman, Assistant Professor of Management, explores this critical question in his research titled:
“Using a Job Analysis Lens to Resolve the Hybrid Work Location Discord.”

As organizations debate return-to-office mandates, Professor Newman proposes a data-based solution. Instead of relying on opinion, his research suggests evaluating each task within a role based on coordination needs, collaboration requirements, and pace of change, then determining where that work is best performed.

The finding is clear: hybrid strategies should be built on structured job analysis, not personal bias. Organizations that take this evidence-based approach will be better positioned to attract and retain talent.

Last week, the School of Business Administration had the pleasure of welcoming back alumna Margaret Godwin, who joined Dr. Sean Newman and a room full of students passionate about HR for an engaging session on the future of Human Resources. Margaret shared how AI is transforming the people side of business and reminded students that technology’s greatest role is to empower people, not replace them.

"Coming back to Stetson to speak with HR management and business students reminded me exactly where my journey began. The student's energy, curiosity, and passion for the future of HR left me feeling incredibly inspired."

Thank you, Margaret, for returning to campus and inspiring our students to lead the future of HR with empathy, innovation, and purpose! 💚
