Hae Seon Lee, who earned two degrees from MTSO including a master of theological studies this year, posted this photo and these beautiful words to social media recently and gave us permission to share them here. Hae Seon is heading to Green, Ohio, where he's been appointed to Greensburg UMC in the East Ohio Annual Conference:
"Three and a half years ago, when I needed somewhere to fall back on, this place became my safety net.
Two years and two months ago, when I needed shelter, it became home.
Today, I'm saying goodbye to the place I've called home for the past two years and two months.
This was the eighth place I've lived since moving to the United States, and the 24th place I've called home in my life. Moving has always been a part of my story. Because of that, I've learned that "home" is more than an address. It is the place that holds you for a season, gives you shelter when you need it, and becomes part of the story you carry with you.
I'm excited for the new journey ahead and grateful for the new place that is waiting to become home. At the same time, there is sadness in no longer calling this place "home".
My prayer is that, just as this place sheltered me and gave me a home when I needed one, it will continue to offer that same sense of safety, rest, and belonging to the many people who come after me.
Thank you for being home."
