Ohio Wesleyan has earned its fifth Choose Ohio First grant, bringing $651K+ in scholarship support to Ohio students pursuing STEM degrees.

Here’s what that investment is making possible:
🎓 100% graduation rate for OWU’s first cohort
📍 Nearly 75% stayed in Ohio to launch their careers
🔍 More than 25% continued into Ohio graduate programs

Along with scholarship support, Choose Ohio First students gain internship, research, and career opportunities that prepare them for what comes next.

Ohio Wesleyan students Mack Fincham ’26 and Cord Podolan ’26 presented their research at the American Physical Society Division of Fluid Dynamics conference, one of the nation's premier gatherings of physicists and researchers.

Their work began through OWU's Summer Scholarship and Research Program and led to opportunities to conduct original research, collaborate with faculty mentors, develop technical and analytical skills, and engage directly with experts in their field.

Ohio Wesleyan is joining the national Student-Made Program, giving students access to a professional online marketplace, pop-up shop opportunities, marketing support, and a network of student entrepreneurs from across the country.

Supported by The Woltemade Center for Economics, Business and Entrepreneurship, Student-Made OWU will help students develop entrepreneurial skills, test new ideas, and grow their ventures while still in college.

"It's exciting that so many students are interested in developing their entrepreneurial skills, creating side hustles, and being part of Student-Made," said Cliff Hurst, assistant professor of Economics & Business.
