The Spring 2020 Course Evaluation System is now open. Access to final grades will be blocked until you have completed your course evaluations. This is your opportunity to give feedback on the courses taken and instruction you received this term. Course evaluations are entirely anonymous, and all evaluation results are accessed as a summary of responses. Some courses may not require an evaluation but please check each course to see if an evaluation tab is available to you.

Note: Several questions pertaining to the shift to remote instruction have been added to the end of the survey for this semester.

To complete your course evaluations:

Go to your Student tab on or after the opening date;

Click on a course;

Click on the Evaluation tab (this will only appear between the evaluation opening and closing dates);

Follow the prompts and respond to each question to the best of your ability;

Submit the evaluation.

Your honest and considered feedback is important to us. If you have questions concerning the evaluation process, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Dear Colleagues and Co-Learners:

In the year of our Lord COVID-19, it is not too late to request a temporary incomplete / extension. For this semester only, this process has been streamlined and course instructors have been delegated authority to grant an extension up to June 19th. To make your request, fill out the online form below OR email your instructor and copy [email protected] briefly explaining why you are requesting an extension. Extensions beyond June 19th will require approval from the Dean.

If you have already received an extension, please still fill out the form so that we have a record of all extensions in one form. I deeply appreciate your help in this matter. All good things. You all remain in my prayers as we complete this semester.

Best,
Dr. Valerie

Petitions for Incompletes / Course Extensions due by Thursday, May 16

Thursday, May 16th is the last day to request an incomplete / course extension for the Spring 2019 semester. The due date for incompletes can be no later than June 21, 2019 (four weeks after the last day of the semester).

The grade of I (Incomplete) may be used under special circumstances on a temporary basis when a student needs additional time on course assignments. To receive a temporary course grade of Incomplete, students must petition the professor, their faculty advisor, and the dean. The petition must be made before the last day of regularly scheduled classes (before finals week) as listed on the Academic Calendar. It is strongly recommended that students petition at least one week prior to this deadline as lack of sufficient lead time may result in the denial of the petition. The dean may ask to confer directly with the student, faculty advisor, and/or instructor before making a decision.

All remaining coursework must be submitted to the instructor no later than four weeks after the last day of the term as listed on the Academic Calendar. The instructor then has one week in which to submit the grade. If no grade is submitted by that time, the course grade will be recorded as an F.

The form to request an incomplete / course extension may now be completed online:

An invitation from Dr. Robin Knowles Wallace: "Curious about what baptism and communion have meant to people over almost 2,000 years? Looking for some fresh ways to think about these practices and to create rituals that resonate for our day? Need to write papers or engage with your board or committee for ordination about communion or baptism? WO625 Sacraments and Ordinances meets June 24-28 and is open to students, alums, and auditors. Readings come from the early church up into postcolonial theory and current issues (including justice, gender, ecology). Course is discussion-based with some online components. Contact Robin Knowles Wallace [email protected] with any questions."

An invitation from Dr. Lisa Withrow: "Join my Women and Ethics of Leadership course on Wednesday evenings this fall semester. The course will focus on women's leadership from womanist, mujerista and feminist perspectives, incorporating ethical issues women face in arenas of work and ministry. The goal is to create alternative practices for women to develop as effective leaders. Critiques of current understandings of power and leadership ethics, narratives and research by women will be focal resources for our time together. The world needs women in leadership!"
