🏆 HISTORY MADE. RECORDS BROKEN. THE NEXT LEVEL OF EXCELLENCE. 🐅🔥

Voorhees University Track & Field delivered one of the greatest performances in program history at the 2026 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

🥇 Jayden Burris claimed the NAIA National Championship in the triple jump with a RECORD-BREAKING leap of 16.32 meters breaking a championship record that had stood for 45 YEARS.

The Tigers also:
🔥 Finished 5th nationally out of 113 institutions
🔥 Produced 8 All-Americans
🔥 Earned multiple podium finishes
🔥 Qualified several athletes for upcoming USATF Championships

From clutch performances to championship moments, this team represented Voorhees University with determination, resilience, and excellence on the national stage.

Congratulations to Head Coach Jeffery Hughes, our student-athletes, and the entire program for continuing to elevate Voorhees University to “The Next Level of Excellence.”

We appreciate the warm welcome and the opportunity to witness firsthand the investment being made into the future of Bruin athletics and academics.

Their courage, duty, and selflessness remind us that freedom is never free. As we remember the fallen, may we also carry forward the values they so bravely defended.

Voorhees University will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.

As we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Normal campus operations will resume Tuesday, May 26.

Voorhees University has launched Well Connected, a wellness-focused podcast created to spark real conversations around health, student life, mental well-being, relationships, financial wellness, and more.

And this is just part of the growing podcast movement at VU.

Voorhees is also home to Voorhees Unfiltered, a student-led and student-driven podcast that debuted in 2024, along with Coach’s Corner, a VU athletics-focused podcast featuring coaches from the Voorhees University athletic staff. Both can be viewed on our YouTube channel under the "Podcasts" tab.

From wellness conversations to student perspectives to athletics and leadership, VU is stepping into the podcasting space with purpose.
