During tonight’s weekly NASA meeting, we learned about the 7 clans of the Cherokee people. The clans include Bird, (Blue) Bear, (Red) paint, Long Hair, Wolf, Wild Potato, and Deer clan. Our members discussed the Cherokee clans and some of our NASA members own family history in the clans. Stay tuned for more presentations coming up in March.

Come and join us for the 6th annual Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration at UNT, Wednesday October 15th on Sage Lawn from 11am-2pm. Come and learn about Native topics while enjoying some delicious food: three sisters stew, cornbread, and wojapi. There will be a performance by the Anoli Dance Troupe from 12pm-1pm.
