Game Day is back, Mean Green!

The Mean Green take on UNLV this Saturday, Sept. 12, and that means some temporary parking changes are coming to campus.

Here’s what you need to know:

Friday, Sept. 11 at noon
Eagle lots on the east side of campus is the primary relocation area for Remote, Lot 81 Resident Reserved and Lot 20 Resident permit holders. Expect increased demand and less availability in these areas.

Friday, Sept. 11 at 10 p.m.
Lot 20 (Eagle and Resident), Lots 70–77 and Lots 80–85 must be completely vacated for game-day operations.

Don’t get relocated.
Vehicles left in these lots after 10 p.m. will be towed/relocated to Lot 40. A $125 relocation fee will apply.

Plan ahead, allow extra time to find a parking space and keep these changes in mind from Friday afternoon through game day.

Transportation Services is ready to provide parking and help our students access transportation on campus and across Denton to help you have another great year. That work wouldn't be possible without the help and hard work of our student workers.

We employ 49 student workers, and even many of our full-time staff are continuing their education right here on campus. Students are a large part of what makes our operation a success, and we are grateful for them.

EDIT: A previous version of this post said November 12, not September 12.

Game Day parking reminder: DON’T GET TOWED.

It is coming in two weeks on September 12.

If you park in a lot surrounding DATCU Stadium, you must move your vehicle before game day.

- You may move your vehicle beginning at 12 p.m. (noon) the day before the game (9/11).
- Vehicles must be moved by 10 p.m.
- Vehicles left in these lots after 10 p.m. will be towed/relocated to Lot 40 — and relocation will cost you $125.

Lots that must be vacated:
- Lot 20 Eagle & Resident
- Lots 70–76 — Mean Green Village
- Lots 80–85 — Victory Hall

Students can move their vehicles to any Eagle lot on the east side of campus after noon the day before the game.

Need a ride to your residence hall? Catch the shuttle from Lot 40 to campus residence halls between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m.

Plan ahead. Move your vehicle before game day and avoid the $125 relocation fee.

Looking for cheaper, free or different ways to get to campus? Check out these options.

Here’s how:

Ride the A-train from other cities to MedPark Station and Transfer to the Colorado Express, a free shuttle for UNT students that takes you straight to campus

Use campus DCTA buses if you park in a remote lot — they’ll get you closer to your class without the long walk

Even if you bike or drive, DCTA services help connect the last stretch of your trip

Whether you're commuting from afar or just need to cross campus quicker, DCTA has options. Please let us know if you need help navigating any of these transit options.

Dead battery? Low tire pressure? Ran out of gas on campus?

The UNT Transportation Services Motorist Assistance Program is here to help with basic roadside assistance, including:
• Inflating flat tires (we don't change tires)
• Battery jump-starts
• A ride to a nearby gas station if you've run out of fuel (gas purchase is your responsibility, as well as handling gas — such as pumping and putting gas in your car once we return to campus)

Call 940-565-3020 during business hours to request assistance. The UNT Police Department non-emergency line (940-565-3000) dispatch can coordinate assistance when available.

Save this post so you'll have the number when you need it.

Paying for your parking permit just got a little more flexible!

Students no longer have to pay for their permit cost up front. You can now transfer your remaining parking permit balance to Student Financial Services (SFS) and pay through your student account.

More flexibility, fewer upfront costs, and one less thing to worry about!
