SOTA at TWU Denton SOTA is the student organization for the School of Occupational Therapy at TWU in Denton. We are ope And it’s a great place to get involved.

SOTA is a wonderful place for students interested in or already a part of the program to learn more about OT and TWU. Members will have the opportunity to participate in monthly meetings, social gatherings, and community service!

Hope y’all are enjoying your break so far! Just wanted to pop on here to let y’all know there is an extra SOTA Social opportunity that can be completed at your own time over the break. This extended opportunity is for anyone that can’t make it to “Friends-Gaming” social event on Monday Nov. 27th due to another conflicting schedule.

This October, we are bringing awareness to the difficulties that those with ADHD may encounter in their daily lives. OT’s involvement includes strategies, such as strengths-based and environmental modifications, to help the client become successful in any type of occupation they may enjoy.

Today, guest speakers, Dr. Nicholas Adam Douville, MD and Kayla Covert, PT, DPT, from Baylor Scott & White Sports Concussion Program at The Star was joined with an OT panelist, Carrie Rigden, OTR, Emilie Klingman, OTR, MOT, and Camille Ko, OTR, OTD, to bridge the gap between OTs and other disciplines in sports-related concussions.

Later, we were able to present our research findings from two different studies, wheelchair cushions and CDC health data.

Brenna presented her poster at the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM) conference in Chicago last Monday under the supervision of Dr. Heather Roberts and Dr. Angela Shierk!
