The Farm Food Fashion Study Tour is back for Fall 2026 🌱
Students in CMHT 4001: Sustainable Food and Fiber will explore how agriculture, food systems, and fashion connect through real-world experiences. The tour includes visits to sustainable urban farms, cotton research centers, community markets, food distributors, and more.
Students will also participate in discussions and case studies built around the places and professionals they meet along the way.
Even better travel costs such as airfare, group transportation, lodging, and some meals are supported through the USDA-NIFA-HSI award.

Great conversations, great food, and great company.

Students had the opportunity to connect with faculty and leadership during our recent Dean’s Lunch, including time to engage with Mark Traynor, PhD ,Chair and Professor and The Robert Dedman Chair in Club Management in the Hospitality, Event & Tourism Management program at the College of Merchandising, Hospitality & Tourism.

Events like these create space for mentorship, conversation, and community beyond the classroom.

The lunch was hosted at Gateway Kitchen, learn more about dining experiences there through the link in our bio.

When was the last time your Dean stepped into the kitchen?

This semester, students in Global Kitchen: A Culinary Journey, got to work with Dean Hawley as a guest chef. She brought leadership, excitement, and creativity to the experience. It’s not every day you see campus leadership being a part of hands-on learning. Students were thrilled to have her join in on the cooking with them and learned how to make Brazilian cuisine.
