Teen Star Laboratory

Teen Star Laboratory We are a health psychology research lab for adolescents at the University of North Texas. Participants are then compensated for their time.

The Teen STAR laboratory is directed by Dr. Heidemarie Blumenthal, a psychology professor at the University of North Texas. Our team is dedicated to increasing awareness in the local community about issues related to the field of Psychology by providing information, resources, and support to our local community. In order to get this information, researchers have to conduct research studies. Our ow

n research is focused on adolescent health behaviors (mental and physical). Adolescence is characterized by lots of changes, new problems, and risky behaviors. Although most teens traverse this period with minimal difficulty, a significant minority start to seriously struggle with things like anxiety or substance use. The Teen STAR laboratory is interested in understanding the intersection of normative developmental experiences and clinically relevant outcomes. In order to do our research, we often recruit participants from the Denton/North Texas area to come to our laboratory on the UNT campus. These lab visits often involve things like filling out surveys, completing interviews, doing computer tasks, etc. The easiest way to keep track of research opportunities in the Teen StAR Lab is to sign up for our contact list (https://unt.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bf3iLWITeDXQUPb). We are always looking for participants so if you are interested in learning more about our current opportunities check out our website (http://psychology.unt.edu/teen-star-laboratory/research/research-opportunities).
