At Daniels, students don't wait until graduation to leave their mark on the business world.

Five MBA students spent a quarter embedded with Boost Mobile as part of the full-time Denver MBA program's Corporate Challenge. They gained insider access, allowing them to research customer loyalty and build an entirely new device-upgrade model from the ground up. Boost's leadership team—including EchoStar's president and COO—praised the students' work as data-driven and thoughtful.

"We were able to influence decision-makers," said student Amity Christie. "It wasn't a theoretical university consulting project. We feel like we made a real difference."

This is what looks like: an opportunity for students to tackle real-world challenges and make an impact.

Meet Jen Bargisen, a Daniels Executive MBA student who uses AI to optimize food and beverage operations for more than 400 venues around the world, including events like the Super Bowl and the Olympic Games.

Bargisen chose the Daniels EMBA program for a curriculum that prepares her for the real challenges she faces in her day-to-day work, and for the in-person, tight-knit cohort of seasoned professionals who broaden her perspective.

Daniels alumna Emma Glendenning (MS 2026) arrived at South by Southwest (SXSW) with her marketing class, seeking a job in the music industry. At the conference, she introduced herself to the company's founder, Jason Beukema, grabbed coffee with the social media manager and had a job offer by the time she returned to campus.

Since launching the SXSW: Marketing, Technology and Innovation course in 2016, Daniels faculty Michael Myers has taken 364 Daniels students to the conference. Rather than following a set itinerary, students build their own schedules around their interests and connect with industry leaders, leaning into the spirit of .

Our Summer School series continues with Kevin Forslund, assistant director of student engagement and advising!

Kevin's path to Daniels wasn't exactly a straight line—school in Colorado, study abroad in Spain, teaching in Barcelona, then China, time in Connecticut, a master's degree in the U.K. and finally, the University of Denver.

Today, he draws on every stop along the way to advise Daniels students, understanding what it feels like to adapt to a new place and helping them find their footing at the College.
