🗣️ Hello Folks! Join the PCA and CU Housing & Dining for our upcoming FREE event: Don’t Be A Prick.

Excited?! We definitely are, and it’s just ONE WEEK away! 🥳

🪴We will be planting succulents, decorating our plant pots, and having conversations about how plant care and maintenance is similar to maintaining healthy relationships with our friends, roommates, and loved ones.

📍You will find us in the courtyard outside Lynx Crossing next Wednesday, October 14th from 4:30PM-6:30PM. 🗓️

😋 Attendees will get free drinks & snacks, and have opportunities to receive free giveaways!

Visiting us all the way from London, Laura is here to have a fireside chat about A.I., Sexism, and Higher Education. There will be a Q&A after the chat.

🚩 8,000 red flags planted today. Each one represents a survivor of relationship violence. 🚩

The Phoenix Center at Auraria is raising awareness ahead of Relationship Violence Awareness Month this October.

Staff and volunteers planted these flags to honor survivors, remember their stories, and remind our community that relationship violence affects real people.

🚩Did you know that 1 in 5 college students experience relationship violence? 🚩
 
Today, staff and volunteers with the Phoenix Center at Auraria planted 8,000 flags in the lawn in front of the Plaza building to represent the 8,000 survivors of relationship violence on the Auraria Campus.
 
Each flag planted reminds us of the lives behind the statistics of relationship violence.
 
We planted these red flags ahead of Relationship Violence Awareness Month this October to raise awareness, honor survivors, and encourage conversations about relationship violence.
 
The term “red flag” may also be used to signal unhealthy and abusive behaviors in relationships.
 
Pay attention to red flags in relationships you have with others, whether they’re with friends, romantic partners, peers, classmates, roommates, professors, employers, etc.
 
You are not alone. We believe you. We are here to support you.
