The Auraria Library first opened its doors on July 15, 1976--50 years ago today! Then, we served 18,000 students (today, more than 38,000) and had about 120,000 volumes (we now offer access to over 2 million, in print and digitally).

We're looking forward to our next half century supporting access, inclusion, and achievement across and beyond .

The Auraria Library is here to support you every step of the way--including all summer long. If you've got extra leisure time, check out a summer read or borrow a free Colorado Parks Pass.
