Looked at my current KGS Bill. Found out the add on amt for the February 2021 Deep Freeze is not appearing on the bills yet. So I did some looking at my past billing analysis. Annual is best. There are two types of charges on KGS bills. Monthly charge: $18.18. If you have a meter hooked up you get charged for no gas or lots of gas. That is a fixed charge for the privelege of getting a bill. Every utility has that. Then the other charges vary, depending on how much gas you use. Taxe, cost of gas weather adjustments. These represent the actual cost to operate a gas fired appliance. My cost per MCF in 2009 was $9.49. Fracking brought the cost down (Supply and Demand) so 2013 was $8.10. 2019 was $7.49. 2021 was 9.75. The last 12 months is $11.42. And the KCC approved charge for the 2021 DeepFreeze costs are not part of that.
