Drake students! You're invited to the 2024 Sussman Leadership Conference featuring Dr. Kristine Bowman (AS'98). Register to gain practical strategies to lead courageous conversations and create a culture of open, honest dialogue in your roles across campus.

Free for all Drake students - registration includes a gourmet brunch, a keynote address, and interactive breakout sessions. If you register, we expect you to show up on time and stay for the entire event.

Are you here for Orientation today? Do you like pizza?? Check out Dough Co. Pizza just down the street on University! They have a welcoming atmosphere and delicious pizza to boot. Don't like pizza? Welcome future Bulldogs! Orientation for new students is happening TODAY! The Student Services Center is hosting a breakout session today in Meredith Hall, room 235 from 3:15pm to 4:15pm; stop in to hear about our awesome new mobile ID system, learn about which parking pass to purchase, how bulldog bucks work, and more! We're also partnering with dining services so you'll get to hear more about how Hubble works and which meal plan is right for you! See you there!

Happy Juneteenth!

Juneteenth, officially Juneteenth National Independence Day, is a federal holiday in the United States and it is celebrated annually on June 19 to commemorate the ending of slavery. The holiday's name is a portmanteau of the words "June" and "nineteenth", as it was on June 19, 1865, when Major General Gordon Granger ordered the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas at the end of the American Civil War. Today we celebrate the unification of our nation and the end of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade industry. We have come so far since 1865, and our nation has so much more growing to do.

May we never stop learning and growing from our history and may we continue to celebrate our growth.

Our Grubhub restaurant highlight this week is: Hiland Park Bakery! Idk about you but I'm always in the mood for doughnuts. Since new student orientation is starting this week, now is the perfect time to get acquainted with the local breakfast cuisine. Sign up for Grubhub and select Drake as your school and you'll get $0 delivery fees to campus! I think I might put an order in now, anybody want anything?? Happy Foodie Friday!
