We are the Pi Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota at Drake University. No matter what we study, we all share a passion for music and our sisterhood!

The mission of Sigma Alpha Iota:
TO FORM chapters of women college students and alumnae who have a sincere interest in music. TO UPHOLD the highest standards of music. TO FURTHER the development of music in America and throughout the world. TO GIVE inspiration and encouragement to members. TO ORGANIZE the cultural life of Sigma Alpha Iota members as a contributing factor to their educational growt

The '26 spring semester has come to a close! From recruitment, philanthropy, service projects, ceremonies, and more, Pi Chapter has had busy, yet fulfilling, semester! We wanted to share these highlights with you, as we look back on a wonderful year of community building and music making, while also looking forward to the many more to come. Happy summer from Pi Chapter! We'll see you all in the fall 🌹

Congrats to our seniors, Courtney Johnson, Chrissie Fischer, Marian Vivas, and Kristen Byrne! We want to thank you all for your dedication to the chapter and your friendship and kindness to every member.🌹

A special thanks goes out to these four, as former members of our executive council. Courtney, Chrissie, and Marian, our three former editors, helped us to connect online and on campus. Kristen, our former treasurer, did a lot behind the scenes to support our philanthropies, events, and recruitment initiatives. Thank you all so much for your service to our chapter! ❤

The kingdoms of Sigma Alpha Iota and Sinfonia cordially invite you to the annual Practice-a-thon festival! This magical event will take place May 9th from 6-10pm in Monroe Hall of FAC, and all fundraising efforts will be given to the Des Moines Symphony Academy scholarship fund!

Today, May 1st, is the last day to register! Participants will log their practice for one week, competing on a team with three fellow musicians. Participants can find a sponsor to pay a fixed amount per hour practiced or pay a flat rate donation. We ask that each participant commit to raising at least $25, whether that be by flat rate donation, $ amount per hour, or some combination. We will end the week with a celebration with food, activities, and prizes! Come join us in supporting our local music community and discovering just who will practice most of all!
