In media commentary on cord‑cutting in Michigan, Dr. Carrie Leach emphasized that rapid declines in cable subscriptions risk deepening the digital divide. Many still lack reliable broadband, up‑to‑date devices, or comfort with streaming platforms, which means TVs remain a critical lifeline to information especially among older and low-income residents.

Cable television subscribers fell below 1 million in Michigan in 2025, as concerns about the cost of streaming services are increasing.

The Protecting Children with Food Allergies Act has now been signed into law. The law says that school food service staff are required to be trained to prevent and respond to allergic reactions.

AAFA worked with Senator Durbin, Senator Fischer, and our partners across the allergy and pediatrics community to advance this important protection for students.

And a huge thanks to our amazing advocates. Your voices and actions helped turn this bill into law.
