The Student Nurses’ Association is hosting an Instagram Story Sharing contest TODAY, Thursday, September 17th, 2020! Those who enter a video submission will be put into a drawing for a 30-day access subscription to UWORLD QBank, a NCLEX test bank (retail value $129.)

The College of Nursing is raising funds for the Board of Visitors Student Success Fund on Giving Day today!. This fund helps secure supplemental instruction, peer mentoring, and tutoring opportunities for some of the most challenging Nursing courses.

We want to let alumni know just how vital these resources are, so students are encouraged to make a video and post to Instagram. Participants will be entered in a drawing for a UWORLD QBank.

We ask that you talk about one of the following topics:

How have you benefitted from services like peer tutoring or supplement instruction in your academic career?
Why did you decide to become a nurse?
Why you chose Wayne State?
What’s a moment you felt inspired during clinicals?

Follow SNA on Instagram and Facebook for more details and stay up to date on getting involved.
Please use the hashtag on your posts and tag us along with our nursing pages!

Wayne State University’s Student Nurses’ Association would like to express our solidarity in standing with the Black Lives Matter movement. We mourn for George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Tamir Rice, Trayvon Martin, and the many others who have unlawfully lost their lives at the hands of police officers. We do not condone this violence nor racial discrimination in our country, community, or campus.

As future nurses, we have a responsibility to advocate for our patients to ensure they are treated equally, and as the most trusted profession, it is our duty to speak out against these injustices that continue to take place within our society. We will not remain silent about this issue nor will we remain neutral. Just as how we educate our patients on their health, we encourage you to educate your friends, family, and community members on the significance of the Black Lives Matter movement and spread awareness of the effect prejudices have on the black community which resulted in these unjust deaths.

To our black students and community, we hear you. We see you. We stand with you.

Just your reminder, in this crazy time of stress & uncertainty for many...to help one another, be kind, & offer what you can to those who don’t have the means to truly take necessary precautions, work from home, have an income due to abrupt job closures, provide basic essentials, or feed their families.

Everything will be okay, as long as we all remain calm, take (normal & necessary) precautions, but most importantly...stick together ❤️
