This , we’re spotlighting CCS Product Design alum Olivia Eshe Holt ’21 and her debut solo exhibition, Making Our Way To Midnight, which is part of Detroit Month of Design.

On view now through September 30 at the Detroit Public Library, this three-part ceramic installation uses handmade tiles to explore Black history, family, memory, and the Great Migration to Detroit. Rooted in both personal story and cultural history, Olivia’s work creates a powerful visual journey through the stories that helped shape our city.

This , we’re stepping into the Material World of Studio Art + Craft student Emma Goldstein.

Her large-scale oil painting, Material World (After Francesco Maggiotto), brings a little Old Masters energy into the modern day, taking inspiration from Italian painter Francesco Maggiotto while swapping historical fashion for contemporary looks.

It’s a perfect example of how Studio Art + Craft at blends traditional techniques with contemporary ideas to create work that feels both timeless and totally of-the-moment.
