The outcome of a transformative reconstructive surgery performed by Wayne State University School of Medicine Assistant Professor of Surgery and Wayne Health physician Andrea Sisti, M.D., has given his patient, Russell C., the opportunity to interact with others without the immediate barrier of disfigurement.

Until meeting Dr. Sisti, Russell lived with a massive keloid that grew to weigh 3.3 pounds over 15 years. It extended from ear to ear, including the bilateral jaw and entire neck, interfering with the patient’s essential daily activities.
