Billy Jackson, a student in our Machine Tool Technology program, is learning how to make his own tools. He is working on a mill machine to create a vice jaw stop. After shaving off a layer of metal, he uses a micrometer to measure and then calculate the overall dimension to make sure the part is the accurate size when complete. Jackson is making the tool as part of a lab assignment, but the part will become a part of his toolbox that will be used to complete future projects. TCAT Dickson offers Machine Tool Technology in Dickson and Clarksville. For more information, visit us at TCATDickson.edu or call 615-441-6220.

TCAT Dickson was presented with a new VETS Designated Campus banner for the main campus and posters for campuses in Clarksville, Franklin, and Erin during our in-service meeting. Thanks to TBR Director of Veteran Enrollment and Benefits, Regina Watkins; THEC Director of Veterans Initiatives, Kathleen Staple; and TBR Veterans Services Associate, Emily Powers, for sharing information to help our veteran population, their spouses and dependents and for presenting these great new signs to display on our campuses.

We had a great day, covered lots of topics, and shared many laughs during our college-wide in-service with many of our employees participating in the "Anything But A Cup Challenge." Congratulations to the winner of our challenge, Brandon Rives, for turning a newspaper box (complete with a post) into a special drinking vessel. It's always a great day at TCAT Dickson!

It isn't always easy to start an IV, but the more you do, the easier it gets. TCAT Dickson Practical Nursing student Antryon Brown (right) practices starting an IV with classmate Briann Dugger as his patient. Dugger is wearing a simulation device that allows Brown to practice this skill without actually sticking her with a needle each time. TCAT Dickson's Practical Nursing program takes one year to complete and is offered in four locations - Dickson, Clarksville, Franklin, and Erin. For more information, visit us at TCATDickson.edu or call 615-441-6220.

Please join us in congratulating Thomas Church (center), a Clarksville campus Automotive Technology student who recently earned his ASE G-1 certification. Thomas first toured TCAT Dickson's Automotive Technology program in November 2023. After having the opportunity to speak directly with the instructor and ask questions, Thomas decided TCAT Dickson was the next step in pursuing a career as an automotive technician. In addition to his diploma, Thomas now has an extra certification to add to his resume, giving him an advantage as he enters the workforce and his instructors, Gabe Yohner and Kendell McManus couldn't be prouder. TCAT Dickson also offers Automotive Technology at the main campus in Dickson. For more information, visit us at TCATDickson.edu or call 615-441-6220.
