Another award-winning year for Surry Cellars!

At the 2026 NC Fine Wines Competition, our student-produced wines earned:

🏅 Double Gold & Best Sparkling – 2021 Specialty Lot 155 Sparkling
🥇 Gold – 2025 Petit Manseng
🥈 Silver – Tannat NV

These awards mark 9 consecutive years of recognition at NC Fine Wines and add to more than 112 awards earned by Surry Cellars since 2009.

Congratulations to our students, faculty, and staff for continuing a tradition of excellence in North Carolina wine.

If you missed us at the Budbreak Wine & Craft Beer Festival in Mount Airy, don’t worry, we’ll also be pouring at the Yadkin Valley Wine Festival in Elkin this Saturday, May 16th.

Headed to the Eastern Winery Exposition next week?

We’re excited to share that Sarah Bowman, Viticulture Instructor at Surry Community College, will be speaking at the conference in Richmond, VA (March 24–26).

Her session, “Vine Training with Tomorrow in Mind,” will explore vine spacing and pruning systems—and how these decisions impact vine longevity, weather resilience, and wine quality.

Join us for an exciting day where prospective students can explore the vineyard & winery, meet our team, taste Surry Cellars wine, and learn about career opportunities in the grape and wine industry.
