Are you interested in trying a college class? The University of Maine at Augusta offers Osher New Beginnings Scholarships to encourage Maine people of all ages to try college. Osher New Beginnings Scholarship can cover one course, including books and required materials.
Who’s Eligible?
You may qualify for an Osher New Beginnings Scholarship if you:
*are a Maine resident,
*have earned a high school diploma or equivalent,
*are a first time student or have not attended college in at least three years,
*have 30 or fewer credit hours,
*will commit to completing a college course.

Tonight we celebrated our Eastern Maine Community College and Northern Light Mayo Hospital Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program completion with a pinning ceremony. This program was made possible with funding from the Harold Alfond Center for the Advancement of Maine's Workforce and the Maine Community College System. Start a new career with Eastern Maine Community College's Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program.

A Nursing Assistant is an individual who provides basic care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This course consists of a combination of classes in theory, laboratory, and clinical learning experiences. You will acquire knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to function safely in a clinical setting. Students who successfully complete the course and the State Board Examination will receive a State of Maine Certification for Basic Nursing Assistant. This program consists of 70 hours of classroom and 20 hours of lab instruction, and 40 hours of clinical time. Candidates must present either a high school diploma, or HISET/GED. The CNA program is funded by the Maine Jobs and Recovery Plan, through the Harold Alfond Center for the Advancement of Maine's Workforce and the Maine Community College System.

Please be careful if you are driving into Dover via Route 7, there is an over hanging tree closer to the town line and a detour by the business park. A very muddy rutted detour.
