Hello ASU members! As the school year has come to an end for many of us, we wanted to take the time to update you on some exciting news!

Arab Student Union was awarded the Community Service Award! This award is presented to an organization who has promoted service to their members and developed influential and diverse service projects.

Even though this was the first year that ASU was an official organization, we accomplished so much together.

Marhaba everyone! I hope you first week back went well.

ASU and AIPhA is hosting the annual cultural night next Friday, March 20th. This event is open to all students and families.

We are still looking for performers, this can be anything from cultural dances to singing and song or playing an instrument. Show off your talent with a fun fill night of music and FREE food (Indian and Middle Eastern)

Come out and show off your culture, whether it be playing and instrument, singing a song or dancing with your Debka squad or simply walking the stage in your cultural outfits! There will also be free food to enjoy while watching the show!

Salam ASU members!

Arab Student Union Executive E-board applications for the 2020-2021 school year are now open! If you are interested in being more involved in this organization by holding a leadership position, please fill out the application below. The following positions will be open for the 2020-2021 school year:

Secretary
Treasurer
Philanthropy Chair
Program Liaisons for each college

Once you click on the application, you will be provided with the roles that correlate with each leadership position.

Applications will close on Wednesday March 4th, which is two weeks from today! If you have any questions regarding the application process or about any of the specific roles, feel free to reach out to one of the current eboard members.

Students will be notified by Friday, March 6th of the status of their application. Elected board members will be trained throughout the spring quarter so that they are familiar and comfortable with thier specific roles.

Thank you to all of the Midwestern University students that participated in making 200 lunches for a homeless shelter within our community! We had around 50 students from the Chicago College of Pharmacy and CDMI packing these lunches in only 15 minutes! The recipients of the food were extremely grateful for all of your efforts.

Hello ASU members,

First off, we would like to thank everyone that came to our first GBM on Friday! For those who couldn't make it, check out what we got planned below!

1. Falafel Platter Fundraiser! Pre-ordering starts on Monday October 14th and closes on Friday October 25th on the portal. Pick up is on Monday October 28th from 11am-1pm in the Commons. The platter is $8 and includes: falafel, hummus, salad and pita bread.

2. Membership dues are currently live on the portal until October 31st. The $10 membership allows the ASU to provide members with food at events, free assess to our social and philanthropy events. Active members must attend at least one philanthropy event per quarter.

3. Feed the Hungry event with Pious Projects! Our goal is to make 3,500 lunches that will be distributed to the homeless and shelters throughout the Chicagoland area.

-Saturday October 19th at 9am in Bridgeview Park District
-Saturday October 26th from 2-5pm at the Quran Academy in Orland Park

4. Future event ideas:
Midwestern Cultural Night with IPhA
Taste of Midwestern
Sponsor a PCRF child and raise fund for cancer centers in Gaza
Winter coat and toy drive for refugees locally and internatianlly
