Sexual assault and relationship violence are concerns on college campuses nationwide, including at Emory. To fulfill our mission, the Respect Program:
• Engages in population-level promotion of a violence-free Emory community
• Provides workshops, events, education, training, campaigns, and guest lectures related to building healthier relationships, consent, survivor support, and other topics rela

• Empowers students as leaders through student organization involvement, course collaborations, internships, and a graduate assistantship
• Advocates for individual students through consultation, crisis intervention, and referral
• Ensures the inclusion of a wide diversity of people and constituents to increase accessibility to all groups
• Collaborates and partners to develop, communicate, and implement strategies to prevent sexual assault, intimate partner violence, sexual harassment, and stalking as well as all forms of oppression
• Promotes assessment, data collection, ongoing development, and research to ensure the Respect Program participates actively in the broader university community

Today may mark the end of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, but the work is far from over. Supporting survivors and believing their stories is a commitment we carry all 365 days of the year.

Thank you to everyone who showed up—whether you attended a SAAM event, wore your denim, or took time to reflect on what this month truly means. 💙

This year, Emory University’s Office of Respect brought our community together for an inspiring and powerful evening of conversation and reflection.
Students gathered for a fireside chat featuring astronaut, activist, and changemaker Amanda Nguyen alongside Emory’s own Dr. Tyralynn Frazier. Their discussion highlighted resilience, advocacy, and the ongoing fight for justice—leaving attendees both moved and motivated.
Before the event, guests also had the opportunity to engage with our Survivor Civil Rights exhibit, creating space for learning, reflection, and honoring lived experiences.
Thank you to everyone who showed up, listened, and contributed to this meaningful experience.

Denim is more than a look—it’s a statement.
Denim Day began as a powerful response to injustice, reminding us that what someone wears is never an invitation or excuse for harm. It’s about standing up, speaking out, and supporting survivors.
On April 29th, wear your denim with purpose. Start conversations. Challenge harmful myths. Show solidarity.
Because awareness leads to change—and change starts with us.

On Tuesday, April 7th the Office of Respect and Supporting campus partners came together to uplift survivor voices and resources through our second annual Take Back the Night. TBTN started in 1972 as people across the U.S began to realize how commonplace violence against women was. The movement has changed to recognize survivors of all gender identities, but the message is still the same: stand against sexual violence and support survivors. A special thank you to all of our community partners who helped support this event!

This April, the Office of Respect invites you to a conversation with Amanda Nguyen — Nobel Peace Prize nominee, civil rights activist, and founder of Rise — whose groundbreaking work has transformed survivor rights into law, alongside Dr. Tyralynn Frazier. Together, they’ll explore resilience, compassion, and how individuals and communities can create meaningful change.

This is more than a conversation — it’s a chance to hear from a global change maker and reflect on the impact of advocacy through the Survivor Civil Rights Exhibit,
