🏐 Volleyball is back at the PAW Center!

Penn State DuBois opens their home season at the PAW Center today, hosting Penn State Beaver and Houghton University for a full day of volleyball action.

📅 Saturday, Sept. 5
📍 PAW Center | Penn State DuBois

🏐 12 p.m. — Penn State DuBois vs. Penn State Beaver
🏐 2 p.m. — Penn State Beaver vs. Houghton University
🏐 4 p.m. — Houghton University vs. Penn State DuBois

Come out to the PAW Center and cheer on Penn State DuBois as the team host their first home matches of the season!

Today, students had the chance to Know Your Rights! ⚖️📚 The Student Government Association brought an attorney from Penn State Student Legal Services to campus to discuss common legal issues college students may face, including landlord-tenant disputes, driving infractions, and other legal matters.

Students were able to learn more about their rights, ask questions, and enjoy a free lunch along the way!

Congratulations to our September Practical Nursing Student of the Month, Kristen Baka! 💙

Kristen has been recognized for the compassion, cultural awareness, and caring attitude she demonstrates toward patients, their families, and her fellow students.

During a recent clinical experience, Kristen took the initiative to learn more about how a patient’s cultural background could influence their individual needs and care. She then shared what she learned with her classmates, helping create a valuable learning opportunity about the importance of approaching each patient with understanding, respect, and an open mind.

Kristen is also a supportive classmate who consistently demonstrates kindness and compassion toward others — qualities that will serve her well throughout her nursing career.

Please join us in congratulating Kristen on this well-deserved recognition! We are proud of her continued growth and look forward to seeing all she accomplishes in the future.

Nine Penn State DuBois students joined student leaders from across the University for the 2026 Summer Leadership Conference, held Aug. 4-6 at Penn State Berks.

The three-day conference provided students with opportunities to develop their leadership skills, build relationships with fellow students and explore ideas they can bring back to their campuses and student organizations. Through keynote presentations, educational breakout sessions and small-group activities, participants explored topics centered on leadership, personal growth and building stronger communities.

Our campus was pleased to welcome 2026-27 Penn State Laureate Erin Murphy to campus yesterday! 📚✍️

During her visit, Murphy presented “With These Hands: A Collaborative Poetry Experience,” sharing selections from her work and inviting attendees to create their own lines of poetry as part of her yearlong Laureate project.

Murphy also spent time engaging with students in the classroom and brought poetry to different corners of campus through several poetry fortune sessions, offering members of the campus community a fun and personal way to experience her work.

Contributions gathered throughout Murphy’s Laureate year will help inspire a collaborative poem featuring voices from across Penn State.

🔷 Vision Board Workshop 🔷

Today, students had the chance to get creative and think about their goals at the Vision Boards Workshop!

Students created vision boards centered around their dreams for their careers, personal growth, travel, and more. They also enjoyed snacks and refreshments from the charcuterie board table while bringing their ideas to life. 🧀🍇

It was a great way to take some time to visualize the future and create a reminder of what we’re working toward!

Today, students stopped by The CUE Open House today to learn more about the free tutoring and academic support available through the Center for Undergraduate Excellence.

From one-on-one and group tutoring to study groups, course review sessions, academic coaching and more, The CUE is here to help students throughout the academic year.

Whether a student needs some extra help with a challenging class, wants to prepare for an upcoming exam or are simply looking to strengthen their study skills, The CUE is one of the amazing resources available at our campus!

🔷Trivia Fun During Common Hour 🔷

Today was all about boosting our brains and getting studious! 🧠

Students stopped by the Student Union for Boost Your Brain Day, where they could grab some Brain Fuel snacks from the trail mix bar, test their knowledge with fun trivia, and meet the amazing Typewriter Poet! ⌨️📝

The Typewriter Poet turned student prompts into personalized, one-of-a-kind poems that they could take home as a unique piece of art. What a fun way to fuel up, get creative, and continue to kick off the semester!
