Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) All music majors select an emphasis in either voice, instrument, or composition.

The Clarke University Music Department offers a curriculum leading to a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Music or in Music Education. Students who wish to diversify or complement their major field of study may also minor in music.

Dana Wilson's Piece of Mind—a pun on the old expression; this piece is Wilson's representation of the working mind.

Arturo Marquez's Danzon No. 2--a Cuban dance composed by Mexican composer Marquez

INTERMISSION

David Maslanka's Unending Stream of Life--a work exploring the writings of Vietnamese Buddhist monks. This performance includes an interactive slideshow.

3 of our music majors gave their senior capstone presentations today! This is one of their last requirements for their music degrees. A huge congratulations to Lauren Schmitt, Maya England, and Katey Theis on this accomplishment!

Dr. Rob Stull and the Clarke String Orchestra took the stage in Jansen Music Hall for the final time last night. What a wonderful and special concert! We were very lucky to premiere junior Music Education major, Lauren Schmitt's composition, Three Winds.

As we approach the final days of the semester, we invite all alumni and students to browse our Facebook photos and posts and download any pictures you’d like to keep. We plan to deactivate our page in the days following our final performance on May 7th, and we want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to save their memories.

Our Clarkies had an incredible weekend performing Beethoven’s 9th Symphony alongside the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra, Dubuque Chorale, and fellow university choirs. What a powerful and unforgettable experience!
