💛🖤 Three weeks down, and campus is feeling alive again! 🐝

As we wrap up the third week of classes, it’s wonderful to see the energy that our students bring to West Virginia State University. The halls are busy, classrooms are filled, friendships are forming, and there’s a sense of excitement all across campus.

In the College of Arts, Humanities and Public Affairs, we’re especially grateful to see our students back doing what they do best, which is learning, creating, performing, collaborating, and growing. 🎶🎭📚

The semester is just getting started, and we’re looking forward to all that’s ahead!

Congratulations to WVSU Communications Associate Professor Kim Cobb on being honored by the Charleston Dirty Birds for Women Making a Difference Night on Wednesday, July 22! The evening begins at 5:45 PM and will feature boxing legend Christy Martin. This is a wonderful reflection of the positive impact Professor Cobb has made in our campus community and beyond, and we’re proud to celebrate this well-deserved honor.

It has been a busy summer for the College of Arts, Humanities, and Public Affairs! 🎉

Along with our exciting new college name, we've had plenty happening behind the scenes as we prepare for another great academic year.

🚧 The John W. Davis Fine Arts Building is receiving much-needed HVAC upgrades to improve the learning environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

🎥 Our Communication Department's television studio is also undergoing a major renovation—an exciting and long-overdue transformation that will provide students with an even better hands-on learning experience.

While construction may look a little messy now, we can't wait to reveal the finished projects! Here's a sneak peek at some of the work currently underway.

We are looking forward to welcoming our students back this fall and sharing these exciting improvements with our campus community. Stay tuned for more updates!

Great having Kandi Workman from the West Virginia Creative Network visit Dean Wallace’s poetry writing workshop today. Her work—building an artists directory, launching a virtual marketplace, and creating new opportunities through coaching and micro-credentialing—is opening real doors for creatives across the state. Grateful for the insight and inspiration she shared with our students.
