AAPI Affinity Group Vision

To be a resource for communication endeavors, specific to AAPI, in the Duke community regarding inclusivity and social justice.

We strive to:
Affirm Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) identities
Create a safe space for discussion
Serve as a voice for the AAPI community
Cultivate a community committed to education and AAPI empowerment
Empower people to become allies Values

Equity: We welcome all community members to participate and advocate for voices that are underserved or marginalized. We seek to amplify

the voice of each patient and advocate for the best patient experience and health outcomes. Community: We are a family and support each other in a safe space. Inclusion/Engagement: We invite active participation in our work and support the work of our partners and allies. Personal Growth: We challenge and foster participants to achieve their full potential. Education: We seek to share knowledge regarding AAPI history, values, and disparities to inform real-world strategies and interventions to facilitate change.
