"I think it's really important for the state of New Hampshire to have a university as brilliant as UNH, because UNH offers things that a lot of state universities don't."

Meet Seren '28, a genetics major from Rhode Island, who discovered that the University of New Hampshire's combination of rigorous academics, undergraduate research opportunities, and supportive community made it the ideal place for her college journey.

Seren was drawn to UNH after learning about the Honors College's unique approach to student support. The program offered everything she wanted: dedicated advisors, honors housing, specialized courses, and research opportunities. Her decision became clear during her campus visit. Seren met with the director of the Honors College and knew this was where she belonged.

In her first year, Seren dove quickly into undergraduate research. Working with Ashley Bulseco, she studied microbial bacteria communities in restored salt marshes, extracting DNA from soil, and using bioinformatics to analyze what species are present. She even presented her findings at the undergraduate research conference in April, an opportunity she never imagined having as a freshman.

Beyond academics, Seren stays connected to her passion for music through UNH Concert Choir and serves as an admissions tour guide, sharing her enthusiasm for UNH with prospective students.

"UNH was the only school where I immediately saw myself here. I knew as soon as I came here that this is not only where I wanted to be, but I could see myself as a student here, whether that was just eating in the dining hall, walking to the fishbowl, or studying in Huddleston Hall."

Move-in day is less than a week away! Here's what to expect: ⭐

🚙 Where do I park during move-in?

Cars go to the unloading zone outside each hall, unload quickly (about 15 minutes max), then move to A Lot. Students can use West Edge Lot during move-in.

📦 Are elevators working during move-in?

Yes, if your hall has an elevator, it'll be running for move-in day.

🗓️ Is there a set schedule?

Check-in and move-in are staffed for specific times. Check your email from Housing for your exact time slot.

💙 How long can parents stay?

Your family can stay as long as you need to get settled! Just remember cars need to be unloaded and moved within 15 minutes.

🐾 Will there be moving help?

Some help is available, especially in larger halls. Moving bins are provided in halls with elevators. Families should plan to move items themselves, early arrival groups may have limited staff.

Planning what to bring to your dorm? Here's what you need to know about microwaves, fridges and room setup!

🔥 Are microwaves and fridges allowed?

Yes! Coordinate with your roommate so you don't bring duplicates and save space.

🛏️ Do we need to request bed lofting or can we do it ourselves?

If your room has a loftable bed, you can do it yourself. If you need help, you should put in a maintenance request. Note: this might not happen during move-in weekend.

🌟 Do I need a hutch for my desk? How much storage does the desk have?

Most desks have storage drawers, but they vary by hall. Hold off on buying a hutch until you see your space.

📦 Is it better to build storage and furniture before I move in?

If you have space to travel with built furniture, it might be quicker. But you'll have plenty of time to set up over the weekend.

"My entire life, I've wanted to help people in my community. That's why I'm interested in health care, innovation, and equality for everyone."

Meet David '26, a nursing and women's and gender studies dual major from Fort Collins, Colorado, who discovered that at UNH, you don't have to choose just one passion, you can combine them all to create something extraordinary.

From his first day at UNH, David felt welcome. From dorm life to clubs and activities, he always had ways to connect with his community on campus. But it was his discovery of medical entrepreneurship that truly ignited his passion for innovation in healthcare.

This newfound interest led him to create a small business focused on noninvasive technology that can help detect urinary tract infections before they become a problem. Working with engineers, doctors and medical facilities across the country, he's turned his dream of helping others into a reality.

The Paul Entrepreneurship Center provided crucial guidance to help David grow his interests and improve his presentation skills through competitions like the Holloway Innovation and Market competition. He also received funding through opportunities like the Summer Seed Grant, all of which contributed to his success in the field.

The network of support between UNH's nursing and women's and gender Studies programs and the Paul Entrepreneurship Center helped David design his own medical device, start a business and create his own path to a bright future. At UNH, this kind of interdisciplinary collaboration empowers students to focus on what they truly love while building the skills needed for success.

UNH has taken David's dream of helping others and made it a reality, proving that the university never limits students to just one thing. 💙 Learn more about David's story in the UNH episode of The College Tour on Prime Video or YouTube.

"Being a changemaker was exactly what I was looking for and as soon as I arrived on campus, I discovered how important sustainability is at UNH."

Meet AJ '28, an English major from North Berwick, Maine, who plans to add a dual major in sustainability. As a first-year student, AJ discovered that UNH's commitment to sustainability and leadership development made it the perfect fit for his college journey. 🌱

AJ was drawn to UNH through the Changemaker Fellowship opportunity, a program for incoming freshmen passionate about sustainability and ready to take action. Through this fellowship, he was matched with a peer mentor who guided his small group through UNH's extensive sustainability opportunities while providing support as he adjusted to campus life.

The transition from home wasn't easy at first. AJ had to leave behind his family, friends and the familiar activities from high school. But once he arrived on campus, he quickly found community with his dorm mates while discovering just how deeply sustainability is woven into UNH's identity.

From capturing methane gas from local landfills to convert into electricity that powers the Durham campus, to the "take less, waste less" initiative in dining halls, AJ has seen firsthand how UNH operates as a living laboratory for sustainability. The university's commitment to environmental stewardship gives all students meaningful opportunities to get involved and make a real impact.

"It's clear how much UNH cares about helping our environment and giving all students the opportunity to get involved."

At UNH, AJ has found like-minded students who share his passion for sustainability and are navigating the same transition to college life. With the support of his peer mentor and fellow changemakers, he's building the foundation for a bright future where he can lead positive change.

"When I came to UNH, I discovered I could embrace change and become the best version of myself."

Meet Jayden '26, a social work major and psychology minor from Attleboro, Massachusetts. As a first-generation college student, this Trio Scholar has transformed her UNH experience into a journey of personal growth and community leadership.

Through the federally funded Trio Scholars program, Jayden found the support system she needed to thrive with hands-on workshops, exclusive scholarships and dedicated advisors. But her transformation extended far beyond academics.

Over her three years at UNH, Jayden embraced change in every aspect of her life. She lost nearly 100 pounds by making the Hamel Rec Center her second home, building not just physical strength but unshakeable confidence.

As president of UNH's Gaming and E-Sports Club and membership chair of Habitat for Humanity, she's created spaces where others can find their own sense of belonging. Her leadership roles have shown her the power of bringing people together around shared passions.

Now preparing for her master's in social work, Jayden embodies UNH's commitment to first-generation students. The university's comprehensive support systems helped her discover her potential and develop the confidence to pursue her dreams of helping others.

"I've met so many incredible people during my time here by being involved and they inspire me every day."

Sometimes the most powerful transformations happen when you're supported to become who you're meant to be. 💙 Learn more about Jayden's story in the UNH episode of The College Tour on Prime Video or YouTube.

"Looking back, I don't think I could have found a college that is more appealing to me than UNH."

Meet Emma '26, a business administration major with an accounting concentration from Vail, Colorado. At UNH, this varsity cross-country skier has found the perfect balance between her love for the outdoors and her career ambitions. ⛷️

Coming from a small Colorado mountain town, Emma knew she needed both nature and access to opportunities. UNH delivered on both fronts, offering her the best of New England's landscape and connectivity to major business hubs. She loves how close campus is to the White Mountains and the ocean, with Boston just an hour's train ride away via the Amtrak station right on campus.

As a business major, Emma appreciates how UNH connects students with firms in Boston, where recruiters and guest speakers regularly visit to provide insight into future careers.

For her athletic training, Emma takes full advantage of College Woods, UNH's extensive recreational trail system on campus. As an endurance athlete, having trails for running and biking right in her backyard has been a game-changer for maintaining her competitive edge.

"The amazing friends I made have shaped me into the person I am today, and I am so grateful to UNH for helping me find myself in college."

Sometimes the perfect fit is found in the heart of New England, where mountains meet opportunity. 🏔️💙 Learn more about Emma's story in the UNH episode of The College Tour on Amazon or YouTube.

"UNH allows me to explore my passion for the unknown and marine organisms, opening up endless possibilities."

Meet Kaitlin '26, a marine, estuarine and freshwater biology major from Dartmouth, Massachusetts. At UNH, she has transformed her coastal upbringing into meaningful action, using her education to make a real difference in wildlife conservation. 🐢

In her major, Kaitlin has found the perfect blend of rigorous academics and hands-on research opportunities. But her UNH experience extends far beyond the classroom.

Just minutes from campus, she volunteers with the New Hampshire Turtle Rescue, a nonprofit where she rehabilitates freshwater turtles and gains experience that perfectly complements her studies. Her work there has sparked new research interests in wildlife rehabilitation and deepened her understanding of local ecosystems.

Kaitlin has also discovered the infectious energy of Wildcat Nation through volunteering at sporting events, experiencing firsthand how vibrant and engaging campus life truly is. Last semester, she broadened her horizons even further while studying abroad in Portugal, exploring new courses in language and literature.

With graduate school on the horizon and research opportunities awaiting her return to campus, Kaitlin embodies what it means to make the most of everything UNH has to offer. 🐾 Watch Kaitlyn's story in the UNH episode of The College Tour Season 14 now on Prime Video or YouTube.

"When I first started college, I had no idea of the world that was about to open to me here at UNH. I feel that I have acquired the skills to shoot for the stars and beyond."

Meet Grace '26, an environmental engineering major from Nazareth, Pennsylvania. Growing up in a soccer family with two older sisters who played collegiately, Grace always knew she wanted to follow in their footsteps. But she also dreamed of becoming an astronaut. 🌟

Initially, Grace felt like she'd have to choose between soccer and engineering. That changed when she was recruited to UNH and discovered the university's top-tier environmental engineering program and the research opportunities available to undergraduates. Though hesitant to venture so far from home, Grace has never felt more at home than she does on campus.

The amazing community Grace has built, from her soccer teammates to her engineering friends, professors, and support from the Mathematics Assistance Center, has made her dreams of becoming an astronaut feel within reach. Last summer, she conducted research with her professor on sustainable in-space manufacturing technology under a National Science Foundation grant, connecting her with talented researchers from universities across the country.

Beyond the big wins on the field and in the classroom, Grace treasures the little moments that make UNH special, like attending sporting events, shopping at the farmer's market, studying with friends, and grabbing coffee with teammates.

Grace's journey shows how UNH supports students as whole people, empowering them to pursue all their passions while preparing them for amazing futures. 🚀⚽ Learn more about Grace's story in the UNH episode of The College Tour on Prime Video or YouTube.

"Even after a lifetime of anticipation, attending UNH still lives up to my expectations and frequently exceeds them."

Meet Noa, a theater major from McKinney, Texas, and their service dog Ender. This third-generation Wildcat grew up surrounded by UNH pride and couldn't imagine calling anywhere else home. 🎭

In their theater major, Noa has embraced hands-on learning through costume construction, performance, marketing, and off-campus internships. But their UNH experience extends far beyond the classroom.

Through UNH's partnership with Northeast Passage, an adaptive recreation nonprofit, Noa has discovered new passions, like weekly court sports in the rec center, kayaking, and even learning sled hockey alongside Team USA members.

What truly lights up Noa is welcoming others to the Wildcat family. As an orientation leader and admissions student representative, they love being the smiling face that shows new and prospective students everything there is to adore about UNH.

"I'm honored to be carrying on my family's legacy, but even more than that, I'm honored to be a part of the Wildcat family as a whole."

UNH has empowered Noa to pursue their passions while helping others find their home away from home. 🐾 Watch Noa's story in the UNH episode of The College Tour Season 14 now on Prime Video or YouTube.
