2024 MFA|EDA Thesis Exhibition, March 22 - April 19. Info and schedule at https://shorturl.at/nAJK2

Duke University’s Master of Fine Arts in Experimental & Documentary Arts program celebrates the art and achievements of the MFA|EDA Class of 2024 in its annual thesis exhibition, March 19-April 22. The exhibition includes photography, documentary video, experimental media, multi-channel installation, and interactive engagement. The exhibition is presented at the Rubenstein Arts Center, Fredric Jameson Gallery, Center for Documentary Studies, Shadowbox Studio, and Cassilhaus.

Simone Barros (’23) will screen “In Tandem Pt. II: The Planet Egg” in the Sight/Geist program “Reproducible Intimacy” Thu May 25 at the 8th Floor NYC. 2018 Power Plant Gallery exhibitor and MFA|EDA visiting artist Erin Johnson also screens in the program.

Vann Powell (’23) reviewed Cristina Velásquez' "Viterbo" for Float Magazine.

Danny Kim (’18) received the Emerging Filmmaker Award at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival for his film “Zero Waste.”

Anna Kipervaser (’15) tells us “With The Tide, with the tide” screens May 27 in Avant to Live: New Experimental Works at Other Cinema in San Francisco and on June 10 in Film Poems: Amplifying Mysteries at Whammy Analog Cinema in Los Angeles. Additionally her Manifest Artist Residency Showcase is on view June 1-30.

“Crisis of Substance” co-directed by Laura Asherman (’23) was nominated for a Southeast Regional Emmy.

Check out “Can You Put On My Head” by Sherly Fan (’23) Wed May 10, 2-5pm at BC Plaza on Duke’s West Campus.

“Zero Waste” by Danny Kim (’18) will screen at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival May 13th + 15th.

Anna Kipervaser (’15) tells us “Next Her Heart” is premiering at Prismatic Ground May 3-7; “How a Sprig of Fir Would Replace a Feather” screens at Moviate Underground Film Festival May 19-21 and at Heavy Light Highways Performance Space May 17-21; and “Бабушка Галя и Дедушка Аркадий // Grandma Galya & Grandpa Arkadiy” premieres at Process Experimental Film Festival May 17-21.

“Sam Wang: Centripetal Persistence” by John Rash (’14) is nominated for a Southeast Regional Emmy.
