Children deserve the best support to reach their full potential. At UNH, future occupational therapists are learning how to unlock that potential through specialized evaluation and intervention techniques.

🌟 Course Spotlight: Occupational Therapy Evaluation and Intervention for Children

In this lab course, students develop expertise in assessing and supporting children across different developmental stages and needs, with the goal of mastering the clinical reasoning skills essential for pediatric occupational therapy practice.

The class captured in these photos focused on sensory processing evaluation and intervention training. This means that students practiced techniques they'll use to help children who struggle with sensory challenges that can impact everything from classroom focus to playground participation.

Throughout the semester, students dive deep into evaluating and addressing performance skills including fine motor coordination, visual processing, executive functioning and emotional regulation. They learn to support children's success in daily activities like getting dressed, playing with friends, succeeding in school and managing their health.

Under Clinical Assistant Professor Casey Rabideau's guidance, students bridge theory and practice in ways that prepare them for real-world clinical settings. The course's emphasis on hands-on learning gives students confidence and competence that translates directly into their future careers helping children and families.

What makes this course special? Students get to experience the joy of bringing classroom knowledge to life through practical application and prepare to make a meaningful difference in young lives.

College application season is here! Here's your guide to Early Action at UNH.

Early Action is the no-stress version of Early Decision. Unlike Early Decision, Early Action is non-binding, meaning you're not required to commit if accepted. You'll receive your admissions decision by the end of January and still have until May 1 to enroll.

✨ Why apply Early Action?

Get to know UNH student life: More time to attend admitted student events, visit campus, and learn about majors and programs.

Academic opportunities: Priority consideration for competitive majors like nursing, exercise science, and occupational therapy.

Life-changing scholarships: Early Action is the deadline for our most impactful scholarship programs, including the Hamel Scholars Program and CEPS Industry Scholarship.

The best part? If you can prepare your application materials on time, there's no downside to applying Early Action! You can still explore other options after receiving your decision.

Looking for a college campus with amazing outdoor spaces to study, relax, and have fun? UNH has five scenic green spaces where you can hang a hammock, toss a frisbee, or just enjoy nature between classes. 🌳

Here are four of our favorite outdoor spots on campus:

T-Hall Lawn: The lawn in front of Thompson Hall is a favorite place for students to hang out on warm days. You'll find students with blankets, hammocks, and lawn games. Some professors even hold outdoor classes here, and it's where our huge campus-wide UDay picnic takes place each fall.

The Fishbowl: Located in front of Scott Residence Hall, this campus lawn is perfect for doing homework at the picnic tables or tossing a frisbee between classes. It's right at the center of campus!

College Woods: Did you know UNH has about 250 acres of woods, streams, and small fields? College Woods is perfect for nature walks, and runs.

Boulder Field: One of four outdoor recreational fields at UNH, Boulder Field is used for campus recreation programs, and fun events like the senior picnic.
